Aaron Earl Livingston, also known as Son Little, is an American R&B musician. Music has always been a part of his life; his dad was a big Jazz fan and played both the clarinet and the saxophone. His origins in the East Coast underground hip-hop and soul scene led to collaborations with The Roots (‘Guns Are Drawn’ and ‘Sleep’), RJD2 (‘Crumbs Off The Table’) and later Portugal. the Man (‘Woodstock’). After a short hiatus, he re-emerged into the industry as Son Little. His debut EP ‘Things I Forgot’ was released in November 2014, and he has since released a number of incredibly emotive albums and EPs. Son Little’s most recent project, ‘Like Neptune,’ released in September 2022, trades in the existential dread permeating previous work, for joy and self-acceptance. ‘Like Neptune’ is a raw and vulnerable look into overcoming generational trauma whilst simultaneously revolutionising the modern expectations of R&B. The album is a timeless body of work reflective of his deep internal desire to inhabit the most radiant version of himself and become a positive force in the lives of people around him. Emotions are set to run deep at Son Little’s Cross The Tracks 2024 performance, and we can’t wait to see him take to the stage.
