From the outskirts of Washington D.C. to studying at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (LIPA), to writing and recording at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, Jalen Ngonda’s talents have transported him far and wide. Honing his talents in the church, Jalen played organ for the soul-grooving parishioners who heart-warmingly later raised the money to send him to LIPA.

Releasing his debut album ‘Come Around and Love Me’ on September 8, 2023, Jalen Ngonda is one of the most captivating performers on today’s soul scene. The influence from listening to his father’s collection of Motown CDs shines through in Ngonda’s extraordinary tracks.

The introspective lyrics and heavy arrangements are a testament to the genre’s pioneers but Ngonda is paving his own way and doesn’t fall into imitation. At 28, there is no doubt that he is set to be one of the biggest voices in the modern soul and R&B scenes.

We are so excited to have Jalen Ngonda perform at Cross The Tracks 2024, be prepared to be mesmerised.
