Meet Our Headliners For Cross The Tracks 2025
What do Ezra Collective and Michael Kiwanuka have in common, bar the Mercury Prize wins, huge international tours, and multiple BRIT nominations? They’re both headlining Cross The Tracks 2025, of course!
With two months to go until we’re reunited in Brockwell Park, let’s spend some time getting to know our stellar headliners.
Ezra Collective
Ezra Collective are no strangers to our corner of South London, having performed a wicked set back in 2023. If you were foolish enough to miss them back then, now’s the chance to get your fix.
Their latest album ‘Dance, No One’s Watching’ is an ode to the sacred, yet joyous act of dancing and in Drummer Femi Koleoso’s own words: ‘This record is the documentation of travelling the world with the band. And, one of the things that became a rocket fuel of the band during that time was a crazy feeling of making people dance.’
Showing no signs of slowing down since their last stop at Cross The Tracks, Ezra Collective are an authentically London band gone global thanks to their unique blend of afrobeat, soul, and salsa. Set to bring an unrivalled energy to our Mainline stage, expect boisterous horns and off-the-rails rhythms, celebrating the joyous and cathartic act of dance. Will you be there to join the party?
Michael Kiwanuka
Closing this year's packed lineup, the honey-voiced Michael Kiwanuka will shine a light on his anthemic psychedelia and tear-jerking soul.
His latest album ‘Small Changes’ is overflowing with luscious melodies and tasteful production (provided by longtime collaborators Danger Mouse and Inflo), and it sounds even better live. On the album's title track, Kiwanuka says: ’You look at a mountain before you start walking and it’s like you’re never going to do it — it’s overwhelming… But with one step after another, small changes — that allow you to climb the mountain.’ More understated than its predecessors, ‘Small Changes’ tackles themes of fatherhood, self-doubt, and self-belief, so be prepared to feel all the feels.
Backed by a dizzying array of band members, expect Michael Kiwanuka to bless your ears and affirm your dreams. A perfect end to a special day in the sun, we can’t wait to share these two incredible sets - along with the rest of our eclectic line-up - with you.
