We're buzzing to announce a collaborative event with Live Promoter Global:Soul, a radio station and distribution platform that works with the very best of UK soul and RnB talent.

Global:Soul caters to seasoned soul music enthusiasts and newcomers to the scene and brings the best of the best to your ears. This juicy collab is bringing you a night of the finest new soul and RnB artists on November 18th at The Hackney Social.

The venue itself is well-known for showcasing emerging artists in the jazz, funk, soul and RnB music scene, like our previous warm-up shows and the gorgeous Ones To Watch gigs with talent like Stef Montanaro, Anjelo Disons and more.

At Cross The Tracks, we just love platforming up-and-coming artists, in fact, we’re utterly obsessed with everything jazz, funk, soul and hip-hop and believe that the UK has some of the greatest new talent.

Our Ones To Watch series aims to highlight the best emerging artists, giving them the platforms they need to grow and giving back to the thriving scene that we all adore. We're more than just a festival; we're a space where community, culture, and music fuse to create an unforgettable atmosphere for artists and music lovers.

At our Cross The Tracks x Global:Soul event, you'll have the pleasure of experiencing four rising artists: RUBII, Mya K, Elsa and Prple guaranteed to blow you away with their soulful performances and fill The Hackney Social with impeccable vibes.

RUBII

Birmingham-born artist RUBII is a rising star in the alternative R&B scene, known for her silky smooth vocals, with genre-blending laid-back jazzy beats. Her EP ‘Olive Green’, released earlier this year, perfectly showcases her unique sound.

The EP opens with ‘Jammin’, an homage to her parents musical vocabulary , followed by the smoother and sultrier ‘Loner (interlude)’. RUBII doesn’t let the momentum of the EP slow down and switches things up with the banger ‘Fool’, which has more garage-soul and dance music influences.

RUBII’s preference to live her life ‘Organic’ is reflected in her conversational style of lyrics. Her songs are full of head-bopping vibes that will leave you wanting more – with her unique sound and captivating performances, RUBII is definitely an artist to watch. Big things are on the horizon for her, so get to know.

Mya K

South London artist Mya K is another one to watch in the soul and RnB genres. Her music combines enchanting lyrics and chilled beats. Her professional music career blossomed in Nigeria at the early age of 10. From shooting videos in South Africa, to being awarded Best Video by a Minor at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2014, she was already reaching astounding heights at a young age.

Her latest single, ‘Call Me’, is a new angle for Mya as she fuses RnB and Amapiano to create an unforgettable sound. The funky beats paired with her sultry vocals make for an incredible vibe as she tries to get an ex to call her back.

Mya exudes charm and passion; her most popular track, ‘Deserve It’, has a seductive and more laid-back sound, with unmatched, playful lyricism and use of punchy drum machines her work is uniquely elevated.

Elsa

Local South London artist Elsa is a rising star, having already released two incredible singles this year. Her poetic lyricism, soulful vocals and electrifying stage presence are not-to-be-missed.

Her latest single, ‘Fall’, blends alternative R&B and jazz vibes perfectly. The crescendo of the track showcases Elsa's immense talent, as her voice explodes alongside a symphony of saxophone. Elsa's upcoming EP promises to be a compelling journey through the realms of womanhood, pain, and her healing processes. We’re so excited to see what the future holds for Elsa, and we can't wait to see her perform at our next Ones To Watch with Global:Soul!

Prple

Prple, a rising artist from Greenwich, has already released three singles this year showcasing her unbelievable talent. Her music is deeply emotional and soulful. Prple's vibey debut single, 'Closed Eyes', was released in January 2022, influenced by the likes of SZA, Jhene Aiko and Nina Simone. Her latest single, 'Internal Paradise', draws inspiration from RnB and Soul genres, featuring smooth vocals and a catchy drum machine.

Her music is a powerful tool for evoking emotions, with her vocals seamlessly blending with soulful instrumental productions. Prple is ready to reveal her thoughts and perceptions to the world, one song at a time. We're excited to see where her talents will take her.
