Cross The Tracks: second line-up release

We’ve got another tidal wave of artists heading your way including our much-anticipated HEADLINE act. After selling out three years running we are gearing up for a successful fifth instalment of Cross The Tracks. At the very heart of the festival is a deep-rooted commitment to community, culture and history. Our passengers are avid music lovers who know us as a platform to discover new artists as well as catch huge names in the scene. 

This latest wave of names backs that up again with the legendary Erykah Badu, a DJ set from pioneer Madlib, instrumental soul group El Michels Affair, genre-defying jazz saxophonist Venna, RnB icon Lady Wray, celestial tunes from Iniko, alternative RnB artist Orion Sun, Palestinian Jordanian electronic music group 47SOUL, a 20yrs of Cold Water Music set from Aim, American singer/songwriter/pianist Neal Francis, Californian Jazz trio Brainstory, smooth Neo-soul artist Faye Meana, a DJ set from the beloved Yazmin Lacey, leftfield Jazz innovator Mackwood, RnB and Soul fusionist Natanya, a special Joey Manzi b2b Nath EPS sonic journey, heart-stirring alternative tunes from SIPHO., soulful artist Ella More and Funk, Soul and House from Disco Ballin'

Our headliner spot is going to the baddest woman around, none other than the “Queen of Neo Soul”; Erykah Badu. With every performance, she reaffirms her status as a musical pioneer and we can’t wait to be blown away by her otherworldly vocals. Legendary US beat maker, definitive hip hop pioneer and endless font of musical knowledge Madlib will also take the stage for a DJ set. We’ve also got cinematic soul group, El Michels Affair, known for their hip hop collaborations, Grammy award-winning saxophonist Venna seamlessly blending rap with melodic jazz beats and iconic Lady Wray providing us with RnB, Soul and chunky basslines. These artists will be joining an already stacked lineup including BADBADNOTGOOD, En Vogue, Eve, Thee Sacred Souls, The Cavemen., Romare, Gilles Peterson, Ella Knight and more. As a festival celebrating genres built around Black culture, we also view it as our responsibility to champion Black artists, labels, and collectives.
