Nicole Wray, also known as Lady Wray was signed by Missy Elliot at just age 15 and her 1998 debut single ‘Make It Hot’ was certified gold. The latest step for Lady Wray is her new album, ‘Piece of Me’, released in 2022. The record is (on the one hand) a continuation, picking up where Lady Wray and label co-owner/producer Leon Michels left off with ‘Queen Alone’. But ‘Piece of Me; is also a kind of homecoming for Lady Wray. Her first record showcased the range of her voice by leaning toward soul and R&B; ‘Piece of Me’ is still R&B with a heavy dose of soul, but you'll hear chunky basslines front and centre.
