Growing up on the sounds of African drumming and Reggae in Brighton, IYAMAH began to use songwriting as a way of diary-like expression aged twelve.
By sixteen, she started writing top lines for DnB tracks with Brighton-based label Shogun Audio. She went on to feature on My Nu Leng’s ‘Senses’.
Following her own path as a solo artist, IYAMAH focused on developing a distinct soulful R&B sound, which she describes as Rootsy Soul. She continues to remain connected to her musical beginnings, favourite genres, and lyrical focus on identity, self-worth and female empowerment.
We are so excited to have IYAMAH perform at Cross The Tracks 2024.
